Safety travel is very important for each of us. Even if you are not traveling for the first time, you are still not insured against unforeseen situations on the way. Starting with tickets and passports and ending with the handling of money, on a journey you are at risk. However, it is not difficult to protect yourself – just take some simple tips for the rules and follow them throughout each trip.

1. Do not be limited to only one way to store money

Cash or credit card is one of the main dilemmas faced by the traveler. There is no universal answer to this question. Spread the money between the “plastic” and cash, and cash should be decomposed into different places. Keep some of the money in the hotel safe – even if someone steals you,  you will not lose all your money at once. Check with your bank whether your card is suitable for pay in the country of destination, and when traveling, try not to pay with card in unreliable shops and always ask for the operation of payment in front of you.

2. Take care of your money while walking

Keeping money in a safe is an excellent option, but do not forget about the cash that you keep with you. You should definitely not carry a wallet in your back pocket or in an insecurely closed bag. A backpack is also not the best option, especially in crowded places. The best will always keep your bag in sight. Belt bags come into fashion again – and this accessory will be irreplaceable when walking around the city. With this kind of bag, you will enjoy the journey, not forgetting about security.

3. Make copies of travel documents

None of us is insured from the loss or theft of documents and money but on the journey this risk increases. Recover lost documents will be much easier with their copies on hand. For reliability, make copies of all documents and store them in a hotel safe. In addition, you should definitely make digital copies of tickets and passports and save them not only in your phone but also in cloud storage, which you can access from any device. These simple methods will significantly simplify the process of obtaining new documents, and you will be able to return to your country, saving time, money and nerves…

4. Don’t forget about insurance

Travel insurance is your security guarantee. This is perhaps the most justified investment that you can make before the trip. Firstly, with an insurance document, you will receive the opportunity to consult on the 24-hour hotline in case of stressful situations. Secondly, you will be able to reimburse your expenses for treatment or additional accommodation due to the delay or cancellation of the flight upon return. And thirdly, you will feel much more comfortable, knowing that nothing threatens your journey, no matter what happens.

5. Get the vaccinations you need

An exotic country anywhere in Africa or in Southeast Asia is a great destination for a traveler who is not used to taking traditional routes. And the threat of an unknown disease is no reason to abandon their plans. In most cases, problems can be avoided by making a single vaccine. It is worth taking care of this no later than a month before the expected date of travel: this is the time it takes the body to develop immunity after vaccination. More information here.

6. Do not serve the beggar and be careful with street vendors

Being generous is great, but it can be dangerous. Stopping in front of the homeless – usually in a crowded place – and getting your wallet in public, you become easy prey for street thieves. If you still want to help – put a little stuff in your pocket to easily get a coin if necessary. Be careful with street vendors, especially in crowded. Hold your bag well and be extremely careful not only in search of treasure on the cheap but also when storing your own savings.

7. Study local laws and customs

All of us, as a rule, go on a journey for the sake of new impressions and emotions that we will keep for life. A new culture is always an interesting experience, but familiarity with it often requires caution. Local laws and customs are part of the national culture, and their ignorance can lead to unpleasant consequences. And if in most countries of Europe everything is more or less clear, in Singapore, for example, you can get a rather big penalty for chewing gum thrown on the ground, and in Bangkok – for feeding an elephant. Having carefully studied the prohibitions in force in your country of destination, you can save yourself not only from losing money but also from getting acquainted with the police. If you are going to travel by car, be sure to learn the local rules of the road – this could save your life.  More interesting restrictions in different countries you can find in this article CAUTION, PENALTY: 10 strange bans in different countries of the world!
